Ryan and Monica Kowal have been keeping bees since 2007. What started as a one-hive hobby has evolved into having apiaries throughout the Albuquerque metropolitan area, including our bee yards at Moore Family Farms in the South Valley and Vida Verde Farms in the Los Ranchos area of the North Valley. We do not use any miticides on our bees, which breeds a honey bee that is naturally resistant to Varroa mites and other infestations and conditions that are inhospitable to bees. This also ensures that our honey is free from chemical residues when it reaches your family's table. We also rear our own queens to be strong, successful layers that are acclimatized to the high-mountain deserts of the Southwest. As a result, our bees winter well and can easily adjust to hot dry conditions.
